Tuplets

Short, practical help designed for lookup: follow the procedure, then compare the result in your score.

Tuplets replace the selected note or rest with a bracketed group of equal rests that span the same duration — ready for you to type into each slot.

Insert a tuplet

Procedure
  1. Select the note or rest that should become the tuplet anchor.
  2. Open the toolbar Tuplet control (bracket icon).
  3. Pick a preset (3, 5, 6, 7, 9) or enter a custom count between 2 and 16, then apply.
Result
The editor rewrites the bar so the tuplet wrapper matches the original slot length.

Remove a tuplet

Procedure
  1. Click the tuplet bracket so it is the active selection.
  2. Press Delete or Backspace.
Result
The tuplet collapses to a simpler rest pattern for that duration.
